Davids works construction shift on K-10 Project in De Soto

March 15, 2023

Representative Sharice Davids was in De Soto earlier today working on a construction shift on the K-10 Project as a part of "Sharice's Shift," a series to bring attention to the bipartisan infrastructure law on the local level.

As part of her work with Clarkson Construction Company, Davids assisted with "potholing for utilities, a non-destructive digging process that uses vacuum excavation to dig precision holes to expose utility lines," per a media release.

Davids shadowed workers at the K-10 Lexington Avenue/103rd Street Exit, which will primarily serve as the main route for the Panasonic plant, which is scheduled to open in March 2025.

"The project I worked on today is a great example of how investing in infrastructure can help prepare our community for future economic growth, like Panasonic," Davids said.

The $4 billion electric vehicle battery plant is expected to create 4,000 jobs and is regarded as the biggest economic development project ever in the 162-year history of Kansas.
