Pruetting discusses city needs, projects with Davids

U.S. Rep. Sharice Davids (D-Kansas) recently met with a Gardner city official during her open office hours at her Overland Park office.

Gardner City Administrator Jim Pruetting said he met with Davids on Oct. 31 to discuss the city’s projects and community needs.

“I had the opportunity to meet with Representative Davids and discuss issues that impact Gardner, such as utility infrastructure investment, workforce development and childcare,” he said. “She has been great to work with over the past few years and has worked hard to secure federal funds for Gardner projects.”

Pruetting said that last year, Davids helped secure a $3 million dollar appropriation for wastewater infrastructure on the south side of Interstate 35 and continued to advocate for city project funding.

“These funds allowed us to move forward with the project in 2023 to help accommodate the new growth on that side of the interstate,” he said.
