Rep. Davids delivers annual Valentine’s for Veterans

February 28, 2024

Two days before Valentine’s Day, U.S. Rep. Sharice Davids delivered Valentine’s Day cards at the Lenexa VA as part of her sixth-annual Valentine’s for Veterans program.

Davids’ team received more than 100 cards from the community throughout the Kansas Third District.

Davids’ highlighted the support available to Kansas City-area veterans through her office.

“It’s an honor to once again deliver valentine’s cards to veterans, their families and caregivers in our community,” Davids said. “As the daughter of a veteran, I understand firsthand the sacrifice our veterans make while serving our country. The Valentine’s for Veterans program is one small, yet personal way we can show our appreciation for those who have worked to keep us safe. I’m thankful for the Kansans who participated and look forward to next year’s program.”

Davids, whose mother served in the U.S. Army for 20 years, has worked during her time in office to ensure Kansas veterans are supported after returning home from active duty.

Davids led a bill with Rep. Mark Alford aimed at supporting veteran small business owners, received broad bipartisan support when it passed the U.S. House last year.

Davids has also helped pass the Honoring our PACT ACT, which expands Department of Veterans Affairs’ health care eligibility to 3.5 million American veterans exposed to burn pits and toxic airborne hazards while deployed.

Davids’ office helps military and veteran constituents with casework and acts as a facilitator between federal, state and local agencies.
