Rep. Sharice Davids Announces $17.8 Million in Projects to Boost Jobs, Safety, and Infrastructure in Kansas’ Third District

April 7, 2026

On April 7, Rep. Sharice Davids joined local leaders to announce 14 projects in Kansas’ Third District totaling $17.8 million. The funding will support workforce training, flood mitigation, road and bridge safety, law enforcement, and other community priorities.

Prior to the press conference, Rep. Davids visited K-State’s Olathe Advanced Manufacturing and Bulk Solids Technology Center, showcasing $5 million she secured for new equipment to train students in advanced manufacturing and supply chain research. The center, the only university-based facility in North America focused on powder and bulk solids handling, supports industry through testing, research, and education.

“My job is to advocate for the Third District and make sure our community’s priorities are front and center in Washington,” said Rep. Davids. “We worked closely with local leaders and carefully vetted every project to ensure it delivers a strong return on investment for Kansas families. I’ve always pushed for responsible budgeting that protects taxpayers, and these investments do exactly that while making a real difference in our communities.”
