Representative Sharice Davids Champions Bipartisan Farm Bill, Prepares For Upcoming Review Of Republican Draft

May 16, 2024

Today, U.S. Representative Sharice Davids reaffirmed her dedication to the enactment of a bipartisan Farm Bill with a genuine prospect of becoming law. The Farm Bill, set to have some of its provisions expire on September 30, is a legislative package renewed approximately every five years. It includes several vital programs related to agriculture, conservation, nutrition, and trade. As a member of the U.S. House Agriculture Committee, Davids is anticipated to review a Farm Bill draft proposed by Republicans in the coming week.

Earlier this year, Representative Davids held a meeting with key agricultural stakeholders to discuss Kansas farming. The group visited a local farm and emphasized the need for a bipartisan Farm Bill during their discussions. To prepare for the bill’s reauthorization, Davids undertook a listening tour, visiting various farming operations across several counties, participating in FFA activities, serving school lunch, discussing financial support with industry leaders, and touring a dairy farm.
