U.S. Rep. Sharice Davids tours GEHS

U.S. Rep. Sharice Davids (D-Kansas) visited Gardner Edgerton High School earlier this month, meeting with USD 231 Superintendent Dr. Brian Huff.

Davids’ appearance occurred not long after a recent visit from U.S. Sen. Jerry Moran (R-Kansas) last month.

Huff said the district was fortunate to host Davids and Moran.

“These visits are a testament to the importance of quality public education and the significant role USD 231 schools play in our community,” he said. “It is an honor to have them on our campus, and we believe these visits serve as a valuable educational experience for our students.”

Huff said Davids witnessed firsthand the everyday work of educators and students.

“She engaged in discussions with teachers, visited classrooms and interacted with our students, all while emphasizing the significance of public education in our society,” he said.

Huff said the visit served as a valuable moment for representatives to see how public policy affects students and employees.
