Davids Helps Secure Improved USMCA to Help Kansas Workers, Economy

December 20, 2019

Today, the House of Representatives passed the United States–Mexico–Canada Agreement (USMCA) with transformational improvements championed by Representative Sharice Davids to bolster Kansas' economy, support workers, and increase access to affordable prescription drugs.

"Over the past year I've heard from local business leaders, workers, farmers, and manufacturers about the importance of passing a strong, fair trade agreement that supports our economy and protects our workers. I worked diligently alongside our labor community to ensure that the priorities of our community were reflected in the USMCA, helping to secure strong enforcement mechanisms, protections for workers and the environment, and provisions to lower the skyrocketing cost of prescription drugs. Today, I was proud to vote for this bipartisan trade agreement that has strong and enforceable rules that protect American workers, the health of our families, and our environment," said Davids.
