Davids Receives “Friend of Farm Bureau” Award from American Farm Bureau
Yesterday, during a meeting with the Kansas Farm Bureau's Leadership Class, Representative Sharice Davids was presented with the "Friend of Farm Bureau" award from the American Farm Bureau Federation (AFBF). The award is given to Members of Congress who have supported farmers, ranchers, and agricultural communities in the 117th Congress. Davids was nominated by the Kansas Farm Bureau and approved by the AFBF Board of Directors.
"I am honored to receive the ‘Friend of Farm Bureau' award from the American Farm Bureau," said Davids. "Kansas farms and agricultural businesses play a vital role in our state's economy, history, and future. I will continue supporting policies that will benefit our Kansas producers and the millions of people around the world they feed."
"It's always an honor to see a member of the Kansas delegation recognized for understanding the importance of agriculture," said Rich Felts, Kansas Farm Bureau President. "Rep. Sharice Davids has made sure the voices of Kansas farmers and ranchers are heard in the U.S. Capitol. She has advocated for farm-friendly policies like the Ocean Shipping Reform Act, while also pushing back on bad policy like government intrusion in cattle markets."

Davids is the newest member of the House Agricultural Committee which oversees the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) and has jurisdiction over all aspects of agriculture, forestry, nutrition, water conservation, and other agriculture-related fields. Davids serves on the committee alongside Rep. Tracey Mann (KS-01) as they prepare to consider the 2023 Farm Bill, a package of legislation passed about every five years that includes several critically important agriculture, conservation, nutrition, and trade programs.
