Davids Seeks Gold Star Family Member for Fellowship in Kansas Offices
Today, Representative Sharice Davids announced her office has been selected to host a Gold Star Fellow for a one-year fellowship based in her Kansas offices. The position is open to Gold Star Family Members, and the person selected for the fellowship will work directly with constituents in the Third District of Kansas, acting as a facilitator with federal, state, and local agencies.
“Coming from a military family, I know that service members and their families make incredible sacrifices. In return, we have a duty to care for them, and our office is dedicated to making good on that commitment,” said Davids. “I’m honored to offer this fellowship to make sure Gold Star Families have employment opportunities and access to the care and services they have earned.”
The Gold Star Family Fellowship Program was established by the House of Representatives to provide employment opportunities for families of our service members who have paid the ultimate sacrifice to our nation. Gold Star Family Members are eligible for the program if they are the parent, spouse, sibling, child, or step-child of a service member who either died on active duty or received an Honorable Discharge and died due to a service connected disability within four-years of military separation.
