Davids Statement on Congresswoman-Elect Mary Peltola

Representative Sharice Davids issued the following statement on the result of Alaska's At-Large Congressional District special election:

"As Co-Chair of the Congressional Native American Caucus, I look forward to welcoming Congresswoman-Elect Mary Peltola to the 117th Congress where she'll serve the remainder of the late Rep. Don Young's term. Mary will make history as the first Yup'ik and Alaska Native to serve Congress, and I'm confident she will carry on Rep. Young's legacy and dedication to all Alaskans. I look forward to working with her on strengthening our federal trust responsibility to American Indians and Alaska Natives and other priorities for the remainder of this Congress."
