Davids Statement on the One-Year Anniversary of January 6th

Representative Sharice Davids issued the following statement reflecting on the one-year anniversary of the January 6th insurrection:

"January 6th, 2021 was one of the darkest days in our nation's history. One year later, it's still difficult to process the attack on our Capitol and on our democracy itself. Lives were lost, including those of capitol police, hundreds were injured, and millions were impacted as they watched from home in disbelief. Our country is healing, but we cannot fully move on until it's clear the events of that day will never happen again. The American people deserve to know who was involved in the planning and execution of the attack. We need full accountability. On January 7th, 2021, I called for former President Trump's removal from office for inciting the riot. I also continue to support the bipartisan January 6th Select Committee that is working to uncover what truly happened that day. As that work continues, I remain committed to upholding my oath of office to defend the Constitution and to deliver results for the people of the Kansas Third District."
