Davids Statement on Supreme Court’s Emergency Abortion Decision
Today, Representative Sharice Davids released the following statement after the U.S. Supreme Court announced its decision in Idaho v. U.S. Davids has been clear that she supports a patient’s right to make their own health care decisions without the interference of extreme politicians. Earlier this week, she called on U.S. Speaker of the House Mike Johnson to pass the Women’s Health Protection Act, which would guarantee abortion access across the country.
“Two years after Roe was overturned, folks across the country remain scared about what this means for their families and future generations. While today’s Supreme Court decision provides a small sense of relief, it’s temporary. Extreme politicians nationwide continue to do everything they can to strip away reproductive health care, even if it means putting women at risk of serious illness or death. I stand with the vast majority of Kansans in rejecting these extreme actions that have no place in influencing our most private health care decisions.”
