Rep. Sharice Davids to Hold Town Hall Event on March 24 in Olathe
Reaffirming her commitment to constituents, Rep. Sharice Davids announced today that she will hold her first Town Hall event on Sunday, March 24, at 3 p.m. at St. Andrew Christian Church in Olathe, Kan.
The event will begin with a 30-minute live interview between Davids and Shawnee Mission Post Publisher Jay Senter, followed by questions that Senter selects from the audience. Staff from Rep. Davids' District Office will also be on-hand to assist constituents who need help navigating a federal agency.
"Throughout my campaign for Congress, I committed to being open and accessible to the people of Kansas' 3rd District - something that had been lacking in recent years," Davids said. "Holding public town halls is one way to do that so that we can continue our conversations about how we will tackle the issues facing our community and country – like reducing health care costs and prescription drug prices and getting money out of politics. I'm pleased to honor my commitment and I look forward to an informative conversation with the Shawnee Mission Post and the people of the 3rd District."
The event is free and open to the public. Seating is limited and will be reserved on a first come, first serve basis. The doors will open at 2 p.m. and event will begin at 3 p.m. Overflow seating with a live video feed will be available on the premises. The event will also be available via livestream on the Facebook pages of both the Shawnee Mission Post and Rep. Davids.
