Press Release

Rep. Sharice Davids offered the following statement on President Biden’s address tonight to Congress:

"I’ve been proud to work with President Biden on his number one priority: responding to our health and economic crisis. Thanks to the American Rescue Plan and the Administration’s leadership, we are finally starting to turn the corner on this pandemic. The last 100 days have been about getting shots into people’s arms, money into people’s pockets, and relief to people who need it. We can’t let up now. Lives are being saved, families are beginning to reunite and hug each other again, and our economy is starting to turn around.

Our work must continue, especially to help the small businesses that have been hit the hardest by this crisis. Tonight, we heard the President talk about a transformational jobs and infrastructure package that will build our economy back better than before, create good-paying jobs, and tackle climate change. We’re facing multiple crises as a country, but we also have the opportunity to make meaningful, long-lasting investments in our infrastructure that will help our economy recover so it can work better for everyone, just as we did after the Great Depression. I was also glad to hear about his plans for investing in education, childcare and health care affordability. These are all important priorities that I look forward to working on with President Biden and my colleagues from both parties in the coming months.”
