Statement from Rep. Davids on H. Res. 124, opposing President Trump's ban on transgender individuals serving in the U.S. Armed Forces:

"Since 2016, transgender servicemembers have served openly and honorably in the U.S. Armed Forces. The President's discriminatory ban on transgender individuals serving in the military demeans the service of thousands of brave transgender service members, hurts our military readiness, and doesn't reflect our values as a nation.

"Americans should be allowed to serve our country regardless of how they identify. That's why I voted today to reject this shameful ban on transgender Americans serving in the military and urge the Department of Defense to not reinstate a discriminatory policy."
