Statement from Rep. Sharice Davids on the decision to ground Boeing 737 Max Planes in the US:

"Earlier today, I signed a letter to the Federal Aviation Administration urging it to ground Boeing's 737 Max 8 aircrafts. There is nothing more important than the safety of the American people, and I was relieved to see President's decision to finally ground the 737 Max 8 and Max 9 aircrafts.

"My office has been in touch with the FAA and though they are committed to a thorough investigation, they could not give us a clear timeline on when they would have the results. Given that more people's lives could be at stake, these planes should remain grounded until the FAA's investigation concludes that the Boeing 737 Max planes are not a risk to public safety."
