Davids Helps Recover $20 Million for Residents in Kansas' Third District
Today, Representative Sharice Davids announced her office has helped to recover more than $20 million owed to local taxpayers in the Kansas Third District. The milestone highlights the success of Davids’ robust constituent services efforts, a priority she has consistently maintained in her three terms in the House.
In total, Davids’ office has assisted more than 7,300 Kansans with stalled Social Security and veterans benefits, overdue tax returns, and more since taking office in 2019. Of the $20 million recovered, more than $3,200,000 has been recovered so far in 2024.
“Everyone deserves a government that works for them. That’s the way it should be,” said Davids. “Anything my office can do to help folks in the Third District navigate the bureaucracy of the federal government will always be a priority of mine.”
“I contacted the office of Sharice Davids when the IRS was unresponsive and failed to timely process my federal tax refund,” said Jason from Olathe. “Davids' staff understood my issue and represented my concerns and frustrations to the IRS. [The office] successfully moved my case along and resolved the issue. I am thankful for Representative Davids and her Office for their assistance.”
I contacted [Representative Davids’] office to help with two important issues with SSA that I was unable to get resolved for over six months,” said Christopher from Gardner. “Within a week, both issues were resolved due to [her] office getting involved.”
Rep. Davids has made making a difference for Kansans the centerpiece of her service in the U.S. House of Representatives.
For example, in August she toured several of the community projects that she secured federal support for during Fiscal Year 2024.Working together with local officials, Davids’ Community Project Funding requests included securing resources for training vehicles at the Johnson County Regional Police Academy at Johnson County Community College, funding the construction of a new $22 million water treatment plant in Garnett, and more.
