Davids Statement on Supreme Court’s January 6 Prosecution Decision
Today, Representative Sharice Davids released the following statement after the U.S. Supreme Court announced its decision in Fischer v. U.S. Davids, who was in the Capitol complex during the January 6th insurrection, has made clear her commitment to preserving our democracy and holding those responsible for the attack accountable.
“January 6th, 2021 was one of the darkest days in our nation's history with lives lost, hundreds injured, and millions impacted as extreme actors violently attacked the U.S. Capitol and our democracy. Today’s Supreme Court decision is deeply concerning and undermines the sacrifices made by Capitol Police and the trauma experienced by millions of Americans. We must keep working toward full accountability to ensure nothing like January 6th ever happens again. We cannot let extremism win.”
