U.S. Representative Sharice Davids announced Kinsey Savage's submission titled "Wander Through the Woods" won the 2023 Congressional Art Competition for the Third District in Kansas.
It "now heads to the U.S. Capitol where it will be displayed for the next year," Davids stated.

Gov. Laura Kelly and U.S. Rep. Sharice Davids lauded the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency for granting an emergency waiver to permit sale of gasoline blended with 15% ethanol to continue during the summer months in Kansas.
Kelly said in a statement Wednesday the waiver went into effect May 1 and would last through May 20, which would be the federal statutory maximum of 20 days. The EPA is expected to issue additional waivers to extend the exemption in states such as Kansas.
Last week, U.S. Rep. Sharice Davids took official action to lower the cost of gas for Kansans, advocating for immediate and long-term solutions through the year-round sale of fuel blended with higher volumes of ethanol. First, she requested an emergency waiver from Environmental Protection Agency Administrator Michael Regan to allow the sale of E-15 – fuel blended with 10.5 to 15 percent ethanol – during the 2023 summer season in Kansas.
Additionally, she co-sponsored bipartisan legislation that would make the year-round sale of this fuel permanent year-round and in all states.
U.S. Rep. Sharice Davids, the Kansas Democrat representing the 3rd District in the Kansas City area, said she was convinced the U.S. Supreme Court properly allowed the abortion drug mifepristone to remain available while legal challenges worked through the federal courts.
The U.S. 5th Circuit Court of Appeals scheduled oral argument May 17 on a challenge to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration's approval of the abortion drug.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Kansas Rep. Sharice Davids announced Wednesday she took steps to work towards the year-round sale of E15 fuel in Kansas, which is blended with higher amounts of ethanol, amid cuts in foreign oil production.
Local law enforcement agencies in Kansas' Third Congressional District, including Johnson County, can now apply for federal grants to support criminal drug investigation efforts.
The COPS Anti-Methamphetamine Program will provide up to $2 million for local law enforcement, while the Anti-Heroin Task Force has up to $4 million in funds available.

U.S. House Rep. Sharice Davids (D-KS) got her hands dirty on Thursday showing off livestock.
Davids visited Spring Hill High School as part of the Farm Bill Tour.
She heard from students about how to best advocate for Kansas farmers on Capitol Hill.
"It's also important for someone like me to understand what the future of ag looks like and the ways we could be supporting new entrants into farming," Davids said.
The Farm Bill is usually renewed every five years and will help shape agriculture and nutrition policy.
