Today, as President Trump wraps the first 100 days of his second term, Representative Sharice Davids reaffirmed her commitment to pushing back against his administration’s reckless policies while continuing to work across the aisle to lower costs and protect fundamental freedoms.
“Kansas families deserve so much more than chaotic policies that raise their costs and weaken their freedoms,” said Davids. “I’ll always stand up for our community — whether that’s protecting Social Security, making child care more affordable, or lowering prices at the grocery store. We need leaders who will work together to deliver results, and that’s exactly what I’m doing.”
Fighting Trump’s Reckless Policies:
- Protecting Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid: Davids voted against Trump’s reckless budget cuts that threaten retirement security and KanCare coverage for thousands in Kansas’ Third District. She’s also pushing back against destabilizing job cuts at the Social Security Administration and other federal agencies.
- Fighting for Lower Costs: Davids opposes Trump’s reckless tariffs that could raise household costs by $3,800 a year and is working with Kansas farmers and manufacturers to create economic certainty.
- Pushing Back Against Chaos and Corruption: Davids supports bills like the Ending DOGE Conflicts Act to increase transparency and rein in billionaires' influence over government operations.
- Defending American Values: Davids is fighting to protect reproductive freedoms, defend judicial independence, and uphold due process for all Americans.
Delivering Bipartisan Results:
- Passing Legislation: Davids passed two bipartisan bills to support small businesses, ensuring veteran entrepreneurs succeed and eliminating unnecessary red tape.
- Lowering Costs: Davids helped introduce bipartisan legislation to lower costs for everyday necessities like child care and gas.
- Stopping Fentanyl: Davids voted for the bipartisan HALT Fentanyl Act to crack down on dangerous drugs and support law enforcement.
- Working with Kansans: Davids partnered with Senators Jerry Moran (R-KS) and Roger Marshall (R-KS) to push the United States Postal Service (USPS) to grant Olathe’s request for a modernized postal facility.
