Last night, Representative Sharice Davids voted for the bipartisan Social Security Fairness Act. The legislation repeals the Windfall Elimination Provision (WEP) and the Government Pension Offset (GPO), two outdated rules that have unfairly reduced Social Security benefits for millions of public sector retirees, including teachers, firefighters, and police officers. The bill passed with support from 191 Democrats and 136 Republicans.

Today, U.S. Representatives Sharice Davids (D-KS) and Emanuel Cleaver, II (D-MO) announced that the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) has awarded $6,469,000 in federal funding to Cultivate KC to advance conservation and climate-smart agriculture in Kansas City. The federal investment was made possible by the USDA’s Regional Conservation Partnership Program (RCPP), a partner-driven approach to conservation that funds local projects that provide solutions to natural resource challenges on agricultural land.
