KANSAS CITY, MO – Today, U.S. Representatives Sharice Davids (KS-03) and Emanuel Cleaver, II (MO-05) announced that the State Department has selected Kansas City, Missouri as one of six locations for a new U.S. passport agency. Today’s announcement follows Cleaver and Davids’ request for Kansas City to be selected as one of the locations for a new passport agency.

This past weekend, Representative Sharice Davids appeared on MSNBC’s “Velshi” to discuss the Supreme Court’s recent decision to preserve access to Mifepristone, a safe and effective form of medication abortion. She also expressed concern over Kansas Attorney General Kris Kobach’s continued legal attack on the medication, which was approved decades ago and is used in more than 60 countries to safely end a pregnancy.

Today, Representative Sharice Davids released the following statement after the U.S. Supreme Court announced its decision in U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) v. Alliance for Hippocratic Medicine. Mifepristone, which was originally approved for use more than 20 years ago, is a safe and effective medication used in over half of all abortions in the United States.
