Today, Representative Sharice Davids announced that she is joining the bipartisan Fentanyl Prevention Caucus and supporting legislative action to curb the threat of fentanyl in Kansas communities, including by improving detection practices at U.S. borders and ports. Earlier this month, Davids also called on the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to make Narcan available to all users without prescription.

Today, Representative Sharice Davids announced the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) has awarded $2.6 million to Health Partnership Clinic to help expand access to health care in the Greater Kansas City Area. Health Partnership Clinic, who provides high quality health care to low-income individuals in Kansas' Third District, will use the funding to pay staff salaries and purchase new translation services and medical supplies.

Davids expresses needed transparency in hidden airline fees

Today, during a U.S. House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee hearing, Representative Sharice Davids spoke with airline professionals about how the overall flying experience, including safety and transparency of hidden fees for baggage and refunds, could be improved. The U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) has encouraged airlines to stop charging fees for young passengers to sit next to an adult companion, but most domestic airlines still do.

Yesterday, Representative Sharice Davids toured three roads in Wyandotte County identified for safety concerns and announced new bipartisan infrastructure law funding to improve them. Wyandotte County will develop a new, comprehensive Vision Zero safety plan, the number one priority identified in their recently adopted goDotte countywide mobility strategy.

Today, Representative Sharice Davids toured three local roads in Wyandotte County identified for safety concerns and announced new bipartisan infrastructure law funding to improve them. Last year, Davids released a report examining the state of transportation safety in the Third District of Kansas, which found 21 percent of Kansas' pedestrian crash-related deaths in 2020 happened in the Third District.
