Today, Representative Sharice Davids announced the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) has awarded the University of Kansas Medical Center (KUMC) more than $2,100,000 to boost research capabilities in Kansas’ Third Congressional District. The four projects being awarded will develop treatments for new cancer, blood disease, alcohol-induced disease, and oral disorders. KUMC is one of the top 36 public research universities in the country.

OVERLAND PARK, KS - Today, Representative Sharice Davids worked a "Sharice's Shift" on US 69 to highlight the impact and implementation of the bipartisan infrastructure law. Davids, who previously released a report on the state of road infrastructure in Kansas' Third District, shadowed the Storm Drainage crew and helped lay 60” concrete pipes.

OVERLAND PARK, KS – Today, on the one-year anniversary of historic legislation to lower costs and fight climate change, Representative Sharice Davids visited a local business to highlight how Kansas businesses and families can receive discounts to update appliances or tax credits to install clean energy systems like solar panels.

ABILENE, KS – Today, Representative Sharice Davids joined the U.S. Small Business Administrator Isabel Guzman at the Dwight D. Eisenhower Presidential Library to celebrate the Small Business Administration’s (SBA) 70th anniversary. President Eisenhower, who was raised in Abilene, Kansas, created the SBA in 1953 to support and protect the interests of small businesses. Davids has served on the U.S. House Small Business Committee since coming to Congress in 2019.

LENEXA, KS - Today, Representative Sharice Davids celebrated the one-year anniversary of the bipartisan Honoring our PACT Act, a Davids-supported law that expands Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) health care eligibility to five million American veterans who were exposed to toxic airborne hazards while deployed.

Today, Representative Sharice Davids toured the Renner Pump Station in Olathe to highlight her recently approved federal funding request. This project, which is one of 15 Davids-sponsored requests, would replace the 35-year-old generator at the pump station, ensuring access to clean drinking water in emergency situations. Davids was joined by Olathe Mayor John Bacon and City Administrator Tim Danneberg.

The group discussed the impact the fentanyl crisis has on students and how Davids can better advocate in Congress for Kansas youth.
