Representative Sharice Davids is urging House Transportation and Infrastructure leadership to keep the priorities of tribal communities in mind while developing their legislative agenda for the 116th Congress. In a letter she sent to Committee Chairman Peter DeFazio and Highways and Transit Subcommittee Chairwoman Eleanor Holmes Norton this week, Davids outlined some key infrastructure issues Indian Country needs addressed.

Rep. Sharice Davids helped secure $650,000 in federal funding for Vibrant Health, a local health center in Wyandotte County, to increase access to affordable and quality health care services in the area.

Vibrant Health provides medical, dental, mental health and women's health services to underserved and uninsured children and adults in Wyandotte County. Across three locations, Vibrant Health sees approximately 10,000 patients a year.

Rep. Sharice Davids (KS-03) led a group of her House freshman colleagues in urging Committee Chairs to recommit to fiscal responsibility and abide by Congressional Pay-As-You-Go (PAYGO) budget rules, which ensure that any legislation that may increase the federal deficit is offset by spending cuts or revenue increase.

Representative Sharice Davids issued the following statement on the Government of Israel's decision to deny Representatives Tlaib and Omar from entering the country:

"A strong international relationship requires engagement and communication between governments, and the decision to ban Representatives Tlaib and Omar, two sitting members of Congress, from entering Israel is counterproductive to maintaining a strong US-Israel relationship. This action is not in line with the values we hold as democracies, and it's wrong.

Rep. Sharice Davids today released a report highlighting the high prices of diabetes medication like insulin for seniors and the uninsured populations in Kansas' Third Congressional district.

The report found that Kansas Third residents are paying drastically higher prices than they would in other countries, placing a significant economic burden on both taxpayers and patients.

In the wake of mass shootings in El Paso, TX, and Dayton, OH, over the weekend, Rep. Davids issued the following statement calling on the Senate to act on gun safety:

In less than 24 hours, our country has seen two mass shootings that left at least 29 people dead. Whole communities, entire families, and more than one country were devastated by loss this weekend. And this is not the first time we have woken up to this reality.

Rep. Sharice Davids offered the following statement on House passage of the Bipartisan Budget Act of 2019:

"I'm pleased that we were able to pass a bipartisan, 2-year agreement so we can provide funding for essential government operations and address the impending debt ceiling and budgetary caps. Failing to act would have had devastating effects for the people of the Third District as well as for our country's national security and economy, and could have led to another disastrous government shutdown.

Last night, Rep. Sharice Davids voted to pass H.R. 3239, the Humanitarian Standards for Individuals in Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Custody Act, which would establish basic humanitarian standards of care for individuals in CBP custody.
