Representative Sharice Davids issued the following statement on the U.S. Air Strike that killed Qassem Soleimani:

"Qassem Soleimani committed atrocious crimes against American troops and innocent people. But his killing will only serve to further destabilize an already dangerous region and put more American and civilian lives at risk. The American people deserve to know that this Administration has a strategy for how to deal with the aftermath of this major escalation."

Today, the House of Representatives passed the United States–Mexico–Canada Agreement (USMCA) with transformational improvements championed by Representative Sharice Davids to bolster Kansas' economy, support workers, and increase access to affordable prescription drugs.

Today, Representative Sharice Davids voted to pass transformational legislation to lower the cost of prescription drugs for families across Kansas' Third District. The Lower Drug Costs Now Act, H.R. 3, gives Medicare the power to negotiate with drug companies for lower drug prices, and makes those lower prices available even to those with private insurance.

Representative Sharice Davids issued the following statement on the bipartisan USMCA trade agreement reached today:

"The Third District is a major trade hub and our community, along with the entire state of Kansas, benefits most when our country has a strong, fair trade policy. I'm pleased that we've reached a bipartisan compromise on the USMCA that will bolster Kansas' economy. This improvement on our previous trade agreement will support workers, protect the environment, and increase access to affordable prescription drugs.

Representative Sharice Davids is inviting residents of Kansas' Third District to participate in her office's "Holiday Cards for Heroes" program, a chance for community members to send holiday cards to active service members. Residents are encouraged to drop off cards at Davids' Overland Park or Kansas City offices starting today through Monday, December 16.

Representative Sharice Davids has announced the winner of the 2019 Congressional App Challenge for Kansas' Third District: Samuel DeZube, Ike Summerlin, Bradley Lichtmann and Andrew Kampschroeder from Blue Valley Center for Advanced Professional Studies.

Their app entitled "SafeSpace" compiles life-saving texting and calling hotlines for those who are suffering from depression, anxiety, sexual assault, drug abuse, or other forms of mental illness.

Today, Representative Sharice Davids will introduce the Insurance Accountability and Transparency Act to help prevent surprise medical billing. The legislation requires insurance companies to update their provider directories at least once every six months, so patients don't unintentionally receive out-of-network care.

Today, the House of Representatives passed Rep. Sharice Davids' bill, the Successful Entrepreneurship for Reservists and Veterans Act, or SERV Act. This bipartisan legislation helps veteran business owners succeed by studying the barriers they face, including lack of access to credit. It also increases outreach and promotion of small business programs available to veterans.
