Today, Representative Sharice Davids announced that over $1.2 million in pandemic relief aid has been granted to airports and transportation businesses in the Third District of Kansas. Through the American Rescue Plan and the Coronavirus Economic Relief for Transportation Services (CERTS) program, both of which Davids voted to support, four local businesses will be receiving flexible economic relief funds to keep their doors open and keep travelers safe.

"I have been clear about my priorities on this bill, both on the policies included and the overall cost. I fought to exclude unnecessary IRS reporting requirements that would harm consumers, and I will work to see it improved in the Senate and to push against the tax provisions that would only benefit wealthy states and millionaires as the bill moves through the legislative process.
In a House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee hearing today, Vice Chair Sharice Davids heard from trucking, rail, port, and logistics executives about current supply chain issues. Today, Representative Sharice Davids announced the U.S. Department of Agriculture's (USDA) National Institute of Food and Agriculture (NIFA) awarded $524,980 to Catholic Charities of Northeast Kansas and Cultivate KC's New Roots for Refugees program. The funds will be used to provide farmer training and market support at the Juniper Gardens Training Farm, which Davids visited in September, to help families from the refugee community develop and maintain small businesses.
