Today, Representative Sharice Davids announced that Kansas will receive $5,847,059 this year under the bipartisan infrastructure law to install electric vehicle (EV) charging stations along key roads and highways. These investments will create good-paying jobs to help protect Kansas' environment and support American car manufacturers' rapidly-growing EV production.

Last week, Representative Sharice Davids voted to pass the Postal Service Reform Act, bipartisan legislation to put the U.S. Postal Service on stronger financial footing and improve reliability after years of disastrous cuts and delays under Postmaster General DeJoy. The Senate is expected to vote on the legislation later this week.

Today, Representative Sharice Davids announced that AmeriCorps awarded $689,595 to the United Government of Wyandotte County and Kansas City, KS to improve community health and alleviate poverty by placing AmeriCorps VISTA members in the Kansas Third. This funding, renewed for the eighth year, allows 35 year-round and 20 summer members to work full-time on fundraising, grant writing, research, and volunteer recruitment to engage, empower, and improve the community.

Today, Representative Sharice Davids announced that the first round of transit funding under the historic bipartisan infrastructure law is heading to Kansas to strengthen public transportation systems, support transit jobs, and make urgently needed investments. Davids helped lead these investments to passage through her role as Vice Chair of the House Transportation & Infrastructure Committee.

The historic investments to clean up these sites will create good-paying, union jobs, introduce new economic opportunity, and reduce dangerous methane leaks.

Today, Representative Sharice Davids announced the launch of her fourth annual "Valentines for Vets" program to collect and distribute Valentine's Day cards to veterans and caregivers in the Kansas Third District.

Residents are encouraged to mail cards to Davids' office in Kansas City or email a card message to KS03valentinesforvets@gmail.com starting today through Saturday, February 12. Davids will then deliver the submitted cards to Kansas veterans and caregivers.

Today, Representative Sharice Davids introduced a bipartisan bill designed to help rural hospitals remain open and improve health care services. The Rural Hospital Revitalization Act would offer interest-free loans through the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Community Facilities Program. Hospitals could use the loans, available for up to 10 years, to build new facilities or update older buildings.
