Emphasizing the importance of expanding Medicaid in Kansas, Representative Sharice Davids called for the inclusion of the Incentivizing Medicaid Expansion Act in an upcoming health care package. The bill would reset the amount that the federal government matches states' investment for Medicaid expansion, starting at 100 percent.

Funding that Johnson County received from the CARES Act, a federal relief package backed and voted for by Representative Sharice Davids, will help significantly increase the County's COVID-19 testing, contact tracing, and epidemiology division capacity, including more testing supplies.

Representatives Sharice Davids (KS-03) and Emanuel Cleaver, II (MO-5) are pushing to save Kansas City area jobs after news broke of potential layoffs for 1,000 workers at the National Benefits Center due to coronavirus-related revenue shortfalls. It would be among the largest mass layoffs in the Kansas City area.

Representatives Sharice Davids (KS-03) and Andy Kim (NJ-03) have introduced legislation requiring the release of a list of businesses that have received emergency small business loans through the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP), helping to ensure there is transparency and oversight of this critical program. Davids and Kim are both members of the House Small Business Committee.
