Representative Sharice Davids applauded the Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA) announcement that Kansas will receive $79,430,000 from the bipartisan infrastructure law to address drinking water and wastewater systems. This 2022 allocation is the first of five years of dedicated State Revolving Fund water funding that Kansas will receive through the Davids-backed bipartisan infrastructure law.

Today, Representative Sharice Davids, a member of the House Small Business Committee, announced that the SBA Kansas City District Office has reached $124,580,140 in funding to small businesses in the Kansas Third District through 186 traditional loans for fiscal year 2021. As a direct result of these SBA guaranteed 7(a) and 504 small business loans, 10,662 jobs were created or saved in Kansas and Missouri in FY 2021.

Representative Sharice Davids, a member of the Joint Economic Committee (JEC), shared new JEC data today estimating that in the Kansas Third District, 91,000 Child Tax Credit monthly tax cuts were delivered to families' bank accounts the week before Thanksgiving—a total of $37.9 million covering 148,000 children.

Today, Representative Sharice Davids announced that over $1.2 million in pandemic relief aid has been granted to airports and transportation businesses in the Third District of Kansas. Through the American Rescue Plan and the Coronavirus Economic Relief for Transportation Services (CERTS) program, both of which Davids voted to support, four local businesses will be receiving flexible economic relief funds to keep their doors open and keep travelers safe.

In a House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee hearing today, Vice Chair Sharice Davids heard from trucking, rail, port, and logistics executives about current supply chain issues. Davids focused on long-term workforce and manufacturing solutions, highlighting her bill to introduce more women to the trucking workforce, as they currently make up just 24% of all transportation and warehouse jobs.

On Tuesday, Representative Sharice Davids joined local leaders from across the Kansas Third District to celebrate passage of the bipartisan infrastructure bill, which is expected to bring $3.8 billion to Kansas for infrastructure needs from roads and bridges to high-speed internet and public transit. The event was widely attended by members of the local labor community, business leaders, climate advocates, elected officials, and more—all applauding Davids' work to pass this much-needed infrastructure legislation.
