Today, Representative Sharice Davids announced that $23.9 million is coming to the Upper Turkey Creek flood mitigation project in Merriam, Kansas—a longtime priority of the community. This bipartisan infrastructure law funding will be used to lift downtown Merriam out of the floodplain and reduce flood risk to businesses and homes in the area.

Today, Representative Sharice Davids shared four new funding opportunities for Kansas small businesses provided by the American Rescue Plan. Davids is the only member of the Kansas delegation who voted for the American Rescue Plan, which has already helped hundreds of businesses in the Kansas Third District stay afloat. Davids also serves as the Chair of the House Small Business Subcommittee on Economic Growth, Tax, and Capital Access.

Davids was joined by Dr. Natasha Burgert, MD, FAAP, a pediatrician in Overland Park, who shared that families should speak to a pediatrician and have caution when deciding on an alternative form of nutrition for their child.
