Today, United States Representatives Sharice Davids (D-KS) and Emanuel Cleaver, II (D-MO) announced over $90.9 million in American Rescue Plan funding will go toward supporting transit projects in the Greater Kansas City Area. The funding includes a $24.7 million Capital Investment Grant for the Kansas City Streetcar Main Street Extension Project, which ensures the project is now fully funded.

One week after Representative Sharice Davids introduced bipartisan legislation to extend the deadline for small businesses to repay COVID-19 disaster loans, the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) announced they will extend the deadline until 2022.

Davids applauded the decision by the SBA to delay loan repayments, which will provide additional relief for businesses as the COVID-19 pandemic remains ongoing.

Representative Sharice Davids announced her support for the Unemployment Insurance Technology Modernization Act, critical legislation that would invest in the technology needed to modernize Unemployment Insurance Systems in states across the country, including Kansas.
